REPARATION
BONDS
Finance Reparations Today. Realise Reparations Tomorrow.
A proposed coded, pre-activation bond architecture being developed through Reparation Nation Limited to expose, test and clarify the institutional requirements for a future Reparation Bond system intended to be brought into operational reality by IBIS.

Development and incubation stage: practical testing, supporter engagement, coded prototype records, research and discovery of institutional requirements.
Bond phase
The bond phase tests the questions raised by the books in operational form: identity, eligibility, governance, liability, finance, audit, regulation, data and supporter continuity.
IBIS
IBIS is the intended future international operational authority for bringing the Reparation Bond system into reality, subject to the final legal and institutional structure.

From latent commitment to funded bond
Participation principle: the proposed Reparation Bond system is intended to be open to eligible purchasers generally, whether or not the purchaser is personally entitled to reparations. Bond ownership finances the reparations mechanism; it does not create reparations entitlement.
Select
Choose a proposed denomination and quantity. No money is transferred at the latent stage.
Code
The prototype generates a Bondholder ID, Bond ID and transaction reference rather than displaying a purchaser name.
Latent
The record represents potential future capital. It is not represented as cash received, invested principal or accrued interest.
Activate
Only after defined activation conditions and applicable legal requirements are satisfied would real money be accepted and a funded bond arise.
Latent denominations
Initial denominations for modelling the system.

LATENT REPARATION BOND
Status: LATENT — PROTOTYPE
Bondholder ID:
Bond ID:
Transaction Reference:
Quantity:
Total nominal value:
Amount paid: £0.00
Interest accrued: £0.00
This prototype certificate records a latent-stage reference only. It does not state that subscription money has been received.
Reparations entitlement: holding this prototype record, or any future Reparation Bond, does not by itself create, transfer or establish entitlement to reparations.

Public privacy rule
Verification exposes the Bond ID and bond status, not the coded Bondholder ID or transaction reference.
Build 04 uses a persistent server-side SQLite prototype register. It stores coded bond records only: no purchaser name, email address, payment information or KYC data. Records remain explicitly LATENT and amount paid remains £0.00. A dedicated public verification page is also available.
Bond lifecycle
LATENT
No money paid. No interest accrued. A coded future-financing record exists.
ELIGIBLE FOR ACTIVATION
Defined activation conditions have been satisfied, but the holder has not yet funded the bond.
ACTIVE
Only after lawful activation, payment and any required identity/compliance procedures would the funded bond become active.
REDEEMED / CLOSED
The funded obligation has been discharged according to the eventual contractual terms.

The Black Pledge
The Black Pledge: How a Promise Became a People's Currency, by John Canoe and George T. Nomen, is an existing published companion work.
The Black Pledge and Latent Reparation Bonds are separate models. The forthcoming book Reparation Bonds, written solely by John Canoe – Derrick Lynch, will explain the bond architecture and its relationship to The Black Pledge after the website model has been developed.
Bond ownership and reparations entitlement
Who may finance
The proposed architecture is intended to permit eligible purchasers generally to finance the reparations mechanism, rather than restricting bond ownership only to persons who may be entitled to reparations.
What the bond represents
After lawful activation and funding, the bond would represent the holder's contractual financial claim under the applicable bond terms.
What the bond does not represent
Purchasing, holding, receiving or transferring a Reparation Bond does not by itself create, transfer or establish reparations entitlement.
Development entity and intended future authority
REPARATION NATION LIMITED
Company No. 14761041
Registered office: 23 Jersey House, 2 Eastfield, Enfield, England, EN3 5UY
Private limited company incorporated in England and Wales.
Reparation Nation Limited is the development and incubation entity for this prototype. It is not presented by Build 17 as the intended final issuer of operational Reparation Bonds. The intended future international operational authority is IBIS, subject to the final legal, governance and institutional structure.
No public bond offer is live. Build 17 takes no money, creates no ACTIVE funded bond and does not state that either Reparation Nation Limited or IBIS currently has regulatory authority to issue a live investment product.
