Help our community buy the Bernie Grant Arts Centre.

Why might you pledge?

Two ways to stand for reparatory justice

🌱

Reparatory justice may be for you

If you are Black or Mixed-Black, the proposed system is intended to help build repair for people, families and communities affected by the continuing consequences of enslavement, colonialism and anti-Black injustice.

Your pledge says: “Build a system that can help deliver repair for our future.”
🤝

You want to support justice

You may not expect to receive reparations. You can still pledge because you believe Black and Mixed-Black people should have an effective system for reparatory justice.

Your pledge says: “I support the delivery of reparatory justice.”

A pledge does not promise that anybody will receive money. Who may benefit, what form repair may take and how decisions will be made must be developed lawfully, openly and fairly.

Adults and organisations

Ready to make a larger pledge?

Adults, families, businesses, organisations and institutions may record a larger revocable financial intention towards the proposed community acquisition or stewardship of the Bernie Grant Arts Centre.

No money is taken now. A large pledge is not an investment, purchase, debt or guarantee.

Why the Bernie Grant Arts Centre?

A community home for culture, organising and reparatory justice.

Our first objective is to demonstrate that supporters of reparatory justice want the Bernie Grant Arts Centre protected through lawful community purchase or durable community stewardship.

Our wider objective is to help establish a democratic institution, inspired by ARM UK, capable of developing and delivering reparatory justice for Black and Mixed-Black people.

Discussion is separate from signing the petition or registering a pledge. A discussion post does not create membership, ownership, voting rights, appointment, financial liability or formal authority within the project.

THE DISCUSSION IS OPEN
